Finsera Launches Thematic Explorer for Creating and Analyzing Custom Investment Themes

New investment research application connects thematic basket construction with company analysis, ETF comparison and the analytical capabilities of Finsera.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, UNITED STATES, August 27, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Finsera today announced the launch of the Finsera Thematic Explorer, an AI-driven investment research application for discovering, creating, monitoring and analyzing thematic investment baskets.

Investment themes often begin with a narrative about a technology, industry, economic development or change in market structure. Turning that narrative into an investable basket requires a separate set of decisions: which companies belong in the theme, how they should be weighted, what investment criteria should be applied and how the resulting exposure differs from existing investment products.

The Finsera Thematic Explorer brings these stages of the research process together in one application.

Users can explore curated and trending themes or build a custom theme with a prompt and turn it into an investment basket.

Through its Model Context Protocol (MCP) connection to Finsera, the application can incorporate investment criteria and company characteristics such as company size, valuation, fundamentals, price momentum, industries and countries.

Users can also control the number of stocks in a basket, its weighting methodology and the importance assigned to particular keywords. This makes it possible to construct and compare different interpretations of the same investment theme.

“The name of a theme does not necessarily tell an investor what the underlying exposure looks like,” said Laurent Dubois, co-founder of Finsera. “The companies selected, their weights and the criteria used to construct the basket can materially change what the investor owns. We developed the Thematic Explorer to connect the investment idea with the tools needed to define, examine and monitor that exposure.”

Once a theme has been created, users can drill down from the basket to the individual company level. The application provides holdings, weights, sector exposures, top and bottom performers and performance statistics. An integrated news feed connects relevant company developments with the companies inside the theme.

The application also provides real-time intraday pricing and performance for thematic baskets, related exchange-traded funds and individual stocks.

Finsera themes can be compared with related ETFs using both holdings and performance. This allows users to determine whether products with similar thematic descriptions actually provide similar exposure and to examine whether performance differences reflect security selection, concentration, weighting or a different definition of the theme.

“Macro investment themes rarely fit neatly within a single industry or an existing ETF,” said Joe Mezrich of Metafoura LLC. “The Thematic Explorer provides a direct way to translate a thesis into a portfolio, compare it with related ETFs and understand what the investor would actually own to best match the thesis to the investment.”

Themes and individual companies can be added to watchlists for ongoing monitoring. Custom themes can be saved, renamed and edited, and users can create variations as an investment idea evolves.

“We designed the Thematic Explorer to use AI to connect investment ideas expressed in natural language with the analytical capabilities of Finsera,” said Asriel (Uzi) Levin, co-founder of Finsera. “Users can create a basket, examine the underlying companies and continue refining the theme as the investment idea evolves.”
